The Beach Table

Inspiration for this concrete side table is pretty obvious.  Around this part of the country there are a lot of waterfront property with docks.  The rope depression was the start of the design and the embedded shell really made this table come alive.

The Details: The top is 20″x18″x1.5″ 8000psi concrete with white cement and pea gravel.  The shell is a lightning welk found on the beach and cut to display the internal beauty.  It is filled with clear epoxy to provide a continuous table top.  The legs are made out of corrosion resistant steel channel and wrapped with burlap and twine.  It weighs in at about 60 lbs and stands 23″ tall.

No longer available: Le me know if you would like one like this with any type of embedded shell.
